Budgeting

A budget is a tool used to control the day to day finances of a household or business for short and long term goals. Most people feel a little anxious and even fear the word budget. It should not be that way. It doesn't matter if you have credit problems, credit card problems or don't even have a job at all, it is extremely important these days that you keep track of what ever money comes in.

Who can put up their hand and say they know exactly where every cent of their earnings have gone, I wouldn't have thought many people could. Here's an exercise hold on to every receipt to track where you wage or salary goes. I guarantee you will find thousands of wasted dollars every year in unwanted and unneeded purchases or habits.

If you go to your financial institutions website, they may have budget software that you can use for free to sort out your finances once and for all. You can also purchase software at your local computer store.

You will have to enter all of your earnings, like your wage and then you individually go through all the thing that you would usually need to spend money and I mean everything, your bills, rent, telephone, going out, grocery shopping, clothes shopping everything. Work out how much you spend on all of these things throughout the year and then divide each bill by 52, this gives you an accurate weekly figure.

You will feel great knowing that you have control of your money and you will feel more confident in being able to save for something long term like a car or a house.

So, take control of your money today with a budget.
