Credit Problems
When applying for a loan or a credit card the loan provider will generally do a credit check on you. That means they can see when you have applied for loans before any credit cards you may have, whether you are bankrupt and defaults on any previous loans, any abnormalities in this file and the loan provider may not approve your loan. The loan providers have instant access to your file through Veda advantage. To get an updated version of your credit file for yourself, you just need to contact Veda Advantage.
Even though you may have credit problems or are not working or even bankrupt there may be a second chance lender out there that will still provide you with a loan. However, they may charge more interest and penalties for non payment may be harsher. Don't forget they are giving you a chance when no one else will so it pays to look at it as a second chance.
The best policy when you are getting behind in repayments is to talk your loan provider. Chances are they will help you with extensions or even let you skip a payment or two, just talk to them. As long as they have an understanding and a plan how to get the account back on track you should be fine. Just think to yourself if someone owed me money and then didn't give me an indication on when it would be paid I would be annoyed to and certainly wouldn't lend money to them again.
If your account gets handed to a debt collection agency, again, just talk to them about how the account is going to be caught up to date. Just talking to them also means they won't be so quick to start legal action against you for the dept. If your account does get taken to court you may have to explain to a judge why payments haven't been made. The judge may garnish your wages in some states; you may be even forced to sell assets including your home to pay these depts.
So sort out your finances, get your credit file, make some phone calls, you will feel great when you have taken control of your finances.
